The more detail you give in your request, the better I can interpret the card's meaning for you, which is my role as intermediary, however, even just a general request will get my best effort; it's up to you. For privacy, you may post anonymously; sponsors may choose to get their reading via private message.

Hi! This month's card draw actually came at a really timely moment for me! I'm considering trying to turn some of my creative talents into a side business to make some extra (and much needed) money and I'm wondering what kind of guidance the cards have for me.

Hmm. This is a very interesting read! You got Nightjar (Whippoorwill) - a bird of fall, of the dying time, haunting and dark. This bird will see enemies in the dark, where you cannot see them. They teach that from death springs always new live, and often that what looks like death is only hibernation. They also have excellent camouflage, blending in to such a degree that they are rarely seen.

On the surface, this card may seem discouraging, but I think it is far from that; it is warning you to be sure you have no enemies lurking about unsuspected and to make sure that, in this endeavor, you make a special effort to stand out from the crowd; DON'T blend in! You are fertile soil from which new life may spring; go for it!

I love when the cards are so straightforward; you got Goldfinch. This bird brings flashes of insight, usually sudden, bright, and complete, though occasionally barely grasped or elusive. They speak of suddenly seeing something that was hidden, especially a hidden choice.

Well, you have plenty to ponder! You got Pigeon/Dove. Let's start with the fact that pigeon and dove are two words for the same sort of bird; dove is usually applied to smaller, lighter-colored varieties while larger, darker varieties are considered pigeons. Pigeons typically get a bad reputation as nuisance birds, scavengers and thieves, while doves are considered lovely, sweet, and a popular symbol of peace. These birds have very strong wing muscles and are among the strongest, most maneuverable fliers of all birds. They are among the most adaptable birds on earth, absent only from the Arctic, Antarctic and the driest Sahara desert. They have evolved little, going far back in the fossil record just as they are; this is THE bird, the foundation upon which the concept of "bird" may be built, the essence of "bird-ness". It is also the bird equivalent of human beings, which is never more clear than in our odd love/hate relationship and the fact that virtually every human quality is, in one way or another, projected onto them.
The most powerful word associated with this bird is HOME, in as many ways as the word can be thought of and interpreted.

I drew Falcon this time. "When you look into the abyss, the abyss looks also into you." Reality may not be what you think it is. This bird understands the infinite. It is a wild thing that can be tamed, willing to make a home wherever one is offered and do what comes naturally to it in exchange.

Welcome! For you, I drew Swallow. In many ways, this is a deeply human bird, with similar mating and social structures and a long, long history of living amongst us. This bird advocates stepping back a pace, getting some perspective and objectivity...this is a "thinking" bird rather than a "feeling" one. The swallow is a popular sign of spring/summer all around the world, but carries that lesson that one swallow doesn't make a summer; wait for more certain proof. The swallow rarely flies far from land, so sailors have used it for centuries as a sign that home was close; most of the myths associated with this bird have logic on their side! Even the idea that swallowing a swallow's egg can make one pregnant (Confucious was supposed to have been born this way) has a kind of logic to it. :) Finally, there are also associations with stuttering, shells, and the moon.

Hi there, I'm new (to your DW, not readings) and I thought i would see what the birds might have to say.

I'm working on my spirituality at the moment, trying t0 figure out who might be talking to me and what direction I should go. I have a few deities in mind that I want to try working with but I'm sort of scared to really start this journal.

I just want to know if I'm going in the right direction or if I'm missing the mark.

Your card really jumped out at me. Goose is the doctor/physician, associated with healing, learning/travel, weather/navigation and changes/transitions; both because of their strongly migratory nature and the fact that they are so thoroughly of both earth and water. There are several myths that they grow from trees. This bird teaches the value of life, never leaving anyone behind, having faith in the journey. This bird is also associated with the grandmother, the keeper of the community, and the winter of life. Finally, the "golden egg" laid by the goos was the sun; the god Re in Egyptian mythology. This is the bird of wisdom.

Okay, well, it was a tough draw; the card was very hidden. But I drew for you Peafowl (aka Peacock); this is a bird that covers a lot of topics. I think you need to be aware of technology; make sure radio/television/phone won't be a problem, and make sure gas won't be a problem either.
The card DEFINITELY thinks this is the right choice and wants to encourage you to remember that you should be neither prideful nor ashamed; resist things which will poison your soul, which happens to be a particularly wonderful one.

For you, I drew Bluejay. This bird is the cheerful, flexible opportunist, works well both alone and with others, a bit of a scapegrace, confident, fearless, with a great sense of humor.

The Comorant comes, brief and forceful; this bird communicates in keywords; direct, straight, driven, skillful, swift action, strong appetite, no messing about.

I drew Magpie; this happens to be the bird I associate with my spouse, and so I think it's a good card to get! There is a Chinese legend in which magpies make a bridge for two star-crossed lovers to meet. They are monogamous birds and extra-friendly to romance. If you are in a relationship, you need to build a bridge or meet each other halfway.

If this doesn't seem to apply, please let me know, as there is more I can pull from the card; I'm just assuming this is the part that is relevant to you. :)

I drew the Frigate Bird. In many ways, this is the ultimate bird of the air; with the largest wingspan to body ratio of any bird, they can literally remain in the air for over a week at a time. They are known as pirates and thieves because they often steal prey from other birds, but this is actually only a small part of their diet. These birds teach about mystery, especially the mystery of lifestyles dramatically and intriguingly different from our own, sometimes misunderstood, but always fascinating.

Oh, I'm really excited about this~! I'm a bird person and, this feels really natural for me.

I would like to have a draw about the best way to continue to follow the spiritual path I wish to, which is to connect more with swans on the level of a spiritual family (not as a totem or, about what they mean for humans, but, hoping to learn and live in their ways).

I drew the Gull; this is manhood from a broader perspective; both the knight, the protector, particularly of emotions and children, poetry, chivalry, fairness, respect and the man, untidey, noisy and rowdy in a group, will eat pretty much anything.

For meditation, I drew Crane. Cranes are linked to the transport of stones and small birds (as passengers, that is), in addition to the emotional transport of dance. They are also, due to their extreme angularity, associated with alphabets and arcane knowledge. They are generally a symbol of good luck and may point to the recovery of something lost or stolen. People associated with this bird may have a tendency to be misunderstood when speaking or singing. Finally, they are also associated with longevity, vigilance, fidelity, and focus.

A good card to ponder!

For you, the Cassowary. This bird is the warrior; the defender, though, not the hunter. It only dons its brightly colored warpaint and wields its formidable legs when called upon to do so. The male is also the nurturer, building the nest, hatching the eggs and raising the young; the female leaves after laying. These birds are gardeners of the forest, spreading the seeds far and wide with their roaming. They live deep in the forest and disappear rather than confront humans. This is the picture of the native; three-dimensional and complex, strong and nurturing, of both family and earth, many things at the same time.
