(Actually, as someone who sometimes has motivation problems herself, I can tell you that keeping a to-do on a white board has been very helpful!)
Your second card, Kingfisher, is a less straightforward answer, but speaks of clear vision; make sure you keep in mind and in sight your end goal. (Maybe draw or take a picture of what the end goal of your studies is and display it prominently.) Sometimes, you're just going to have to be sensible and make yourself, even if you feel like you're bashing your head in to do it.
