May One Card Draw
May. 23rd, 2012 08:45 am![[personal profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/silk/identity/user.png)
The May One Card Draw is now OPENCLOSED! Thank you for your participation and support!
Comment and I will pull a card for you from my original, unique bird oracle deck. Anyone and everyone is welcome! The more detail you give in your request, the better I can interpret the card's meaning for you, which is my role as intermediary, however, even just a general request will get my best effort; it's up to you. For privacy, you may post anonymously; sponsors may choose to get their reading via private message.
If you are facing a choice, the cards may help point in the most positive direction for you. You may request an overall card to meditate upon. You might want a card to let you know what new thing may come into your life in the near future, or what is the most important thing facing you at this time. You may ask a specific question and we will see if the universal subconscious can answer it for you. However you use this opportunity, I hope it will be helpful!
Today, I'm working for tips; please support my work if you can! All sponsors may request a second card! (This may be a new question or more detail on the original question, whatever you prefer!)
If total tips exceed $15, I will select from all sponsors to receive a free Wings reading. At $25, a random sponsor will receive a Simple Nest reading. At $50, everyone gets into the running to win a Wings read, and at $75, everyone gets a chance at a Simple Nest. Thank you for your support!
Can't afford to tip? Spread the word! Post a link to my draw in at least two different places and you can request a second card! Thank you!
FINAL UPDATE: We made the second incentive! Sponsors, you are all in the pot for both a Wings and a Simple Nest reading! I will do the drawing hopefully sometime today and notify the winners. Thank you for your support!
As always, please see the disclaimer on my profile page. Also, remember that you can purchase a read at any time from that same profile page or from my website!

Date: 2012-05-23 02:41 pm (UTC)Your first card is Swallow. In many ways, Swallow is a deeply human bird, with mating and social structures very similar to ours and a long, long history of living in human structures.
This bird is about stepping back a pace, getting some perspective and objectivity...listening to your brain more than your heart.
The swallow is a popular sign of spring/summer all around the world, although it carries with it the lesson that one swallow does not make a summer; wait for more certain proof.
Sailors often use swallows as a sign that home is close, because they rarely fly far from land.
There are also associations with stuttering, shells, and the moon.

Date: 2012-05-23 08:19 pm (UTC)On job prospects, I got Swift. Distant, greater things to attend to, on a great quest. He who hesitates is lost. This bird is about living on the wing, efficient with what you have, not dependent on others, and never looking back.
For general meditation, I drew Mockingbird. These birds can learn a person in two 30 second encounters. They understand subtleties of speech/sound/song and the magic of synthesizing disparate things to produce a unique whole. These birds are effortlessly brave and understand that actions speak louder than words.
You may be tested by a blinding distraction. If you stay calm and remember to use all your senses, you will do well.

Date: 2012-05-24 02:17 pm (UTC)The universe thinks you should be focusing on the illusion of depth or strength, showmanship, superfluousness, lots of show without necessarily anything behind it, doing things the easy way, moderation of heat, cooling the flames. All of which are related to Toucan's giant bill, which is not a sexual signal as often believed, but a thermoregulation system, in addition to allowing them to eat more easily. The Toucan also teaches about turning what appears to be a negative into a positive.
I hope that's helpful!

Date: 2012-05-24 02:22 pm (UTC)For your first card, I drew Bluejay. This bird is the cheerful, flexible opportunist, who works well both alone and with others. Bluejay is a shameless thief because he doesn't recognize the concept of ownership, except for territory, with a taste for bright and pretty things. Confident and fearless, sometimes and unconscious bully, with a great sense of humor, this is the bird of the scapegrace or rogue.
I hope this is helpful!

Date: 2012-05-24 06:13 pm (UTC)one card for guidance
Date: 2012-05-24 12:45 pm (UTC)I'm looking for an understanding of my place in the web if different relationships in my life. Should I avoid getting into anything serious now, which is the practical thing since my professional future will likely involve a move soon? Is it time to be alone and independent, still? Or?
If the card seems to speak to something completely different, I trust your instincts. :)
Again: thank you so sincerely.

Date: 2012-05-24 02:31 pm (UTC)I drew Mockingbird, and the answer to your question is not a simple yes or no. On the one hand, Mockingbird speaks of synthesizing disparate things to produce a unique whole, which suggests that if you have a relationship that has been developing, you should allow it to develop naturally and that you or the universe will find a way to make it all work. However, Mockingbird also warns of a potential blinding distraction that requires calm and the use of all your senses to deal with successfully. This suggests that if someone drops into your life unexpectedly, in sweep-you-off-your-feet style, you should NOT get swept up, but keep your feet very firmly on the ground and proceed with caution.
I hope this helps!
