December One Card Draw
Dec. 7th, 2012 08:46 amOops! My life got so busy, November came and went! Sorry about that! This month, I'm going to get it in before things get even crazier! The December One Card Draw is now OPENCLOSED! Thank you for your support! LJ user jake67jake has won a free Wings reading!
As usual, I will be open for roughly 24 hours, so that all time zones have a chance. :)
Comment and I will pull a card for you from my original, unique bird oracle deck. Anyone and everyone is welcome! If you are facing a choice, the cards may help point in the most positive direction for you. You may request an overall card to meditate upon. You might want a card to let you know what new thing may come into your life in the near future, or what is the most important thing facing you at this time. You may ask a specific question and we will see how the universal subconscious will answer it for you. However you use this opportunity, I hope it will be helpful!
A quick note: The more detail you give in your request, the better I can interpret the card's meaning for you, which is my role as intermediary, however, even just a general request will get my best effort; it's up to you.
For privacy, you may post anonymously; sponsors may choose to get their reading via private message.
Today, I'm working for tips; please support my work if you can! All sponsors may request a second card! (This may be a new question or more detail on the original question, whatever you prefer, just let me know!)
If total tips exceed $15, I will select from all sponsors to receive a free Wings reading. At $25, a random sponsor will receive a Simple Nest reading. At $50, everyone gets into the running to win a Wings read, and at $75, everyone gets a chance at a Simple Nest. Thank you for your support!
Can't afford to tip? Spread the word! Post a link to my draw in at least two different places and you can request a second card! Thank you!
Update: We've made our first perk, and with only 2 donations, so your odds of winning a read are very high! Just ten dollars to the next level!
Final Update: We topped out and I flipped a coin. Jake, contact me and let me know what you'd like your Wings reading on! Congratulations!
As always, please see the disclaimer on my profile page. Also, remember that you can purchase a read at any time from that same profile page or from my website!

Date: 2012-12-08 04:26 am (UTC)The swallow is a popular sign of spring/summer all around the world, although it carries the lesson that one swallow doesn’t make a summer…wait for more certain proof…which leads back to perspective and objectivity. The swallow rarely flies far from land, so sailors have used it as a sign that home was close. Most of the myths associated with this bird have logic on their side!

Date: 2012-12-08 03:43 pm (UTC)It nests in dead leaves, the soil moist and growing fertile beneath. The Whippoorwill’s camouflage is truly stunning to behold; it blends right in with the leaves it nests on and is rarely seen. From death springs always new life, and often what looks like death is only hibernation.
A compelling card!

Date: 2012-12-08 03:55 pm (UTC)Perhaps you need to take a role as guardian of your grandfather's treasures, literal or figurative. Sometimes moving on is not about moving away, but embracing.
I hope this helps!

Date: 2012-12-08 04:03 pm (UTC)This is the bird of magic: work, craft, good work, wizardry, and woodwork/carpentry. Wren teaches about big things in small packages and unexpectedness; the wren brought fire and is king of the birds, associating with all of them, due mostly to its small, unthreatening appearance and lovely song, so Wren also speaks about resourcefulness and the real power and intelligence behind the figureheads.

Date: 2012-12-08 04:35 pm (UTC)Falcon is the distant king, a fighter. This bird understands the infinite.
“When you look into the abyss, the abyss looks also into you.”
Reality may not be what you think it is. The sky (which seems blue and seems black and is no color in the end, because it is not a thing, but an emptiness…the true abyss.)
Falcon represents the wild thing that can be tamed, willing to make a home wherever one is offered and do what comes naturally to it in exchange.
Woodpecker is the drummer, linked to thunder and the heartbeat, this bird is most closely intertwined with trees and wood and is therefore also the woodcarver.
Do what seems obvious to you even if it doesn’t seem obvious to someone else. Whatever works! Trust your core instinct. Laugh.
There is also a deep sense of dryness about this bird.
The woodpecker searches the bark of the tree for bugs; a tedious task calling for an eye for detail and noting the importance of the smallest details. Call on this bird when you need to search every nook and cranny.
I hope that helps!

Date: 2012-12-08 03:14 pm (UTC)I am facing a lot of changes for the new year. Im adding a third job to my mix, I'm trying to focus on bettering myself. Im trying to salvage some relationships, and trying to learn how to let some others go (I've always struggled with the task of letting things go...)
So while I could ask a whole lot of specific questions, I think that it may be most informative to let the cards lie as they will.
Thank you :)
