Comment and I will pull a card for you from my original, unique bird oracle deck. Anyone and everyone is welcome! If you are facing a choice, the cards may help point in the most positive direction for you. You may request an overall card to meditate upon. You might want a card to let you know what new thing may come into your life in the near future, or what is the most important thing facing you at this time. You may ask a specific question and we will see how the universal subconscious will answer it for you. However you use this opportunity, I hope it will be helpful!

A quick note: The more detail you give in your request, the better I can interpret the card's meaning for you, which is my role as intermediary, however, even just a general request will get my best effort; it's up to you.

I drew Bird of Paradise. The bestower of kingship/nobility, this is the one who chooses and is not chosen; it must come to you rather than you to it. This bird also represents the haughty or vain male looking down from his great height; it reminds us that no bird is so heavenly that it does not still have feet.

*sigh* I wish I had better news!

I'm just impatient. Now that the heating system (mostly) works, and the roof (mostly) doesn't leak, the thing I'm most impatient for is my kitchen! Without a refrigerator/freezer to keep food more than a day, and without a real stove (microwave, hot plate, and toaster oven don't add up to a real stove!) to cook the food, I can't keep my husband and myself properly fed, which has had some negative effects on our health and stamina.

But mostly I want to be able to bake! I can't even take the lemons life has handed me and make lemon meringue pie, without an oven to bake it in!

This is when it sucks that we are so far away; there's an oven sitting in our garage. *sigh*

I will keep sending "hurry up kitchen" vibes!

Thanks! But until they get around to finishing the floors, I don't even have a place to put a stove! (Or furniture, of course.) As I said, it's progressing in fits and starts. It'll all get done eventually, I know.

Welcome! I drew Quetzal, the bird of freedom, freedom above all else, even life. This bird, which carves its nest out of dead or sick trees, has large eyes for the dim forests it lives in and thick feathers to protect fragile skin, also teaches about the complexity of natural, biological adaptation, and making weaknesses into strengths.

For contemplation, I drew Swallow. In many ways, this is a deeply human bird, with mating and social structures similar to those of humans, and a long, long history of living in human structures. A "thinking" bird, Swallow teaches about stepping back a pace, getting some perspective and objectivity. There are also associations with stuttering, shells and the moon.
The swallow is a popular sign of spring/summer all around the world, although it carries the lesson that one swallow doesn’t make a summer…wait for more certain proof…which leads back to perspective and objectivity. The swallow rarely flies far from land, so sailors have used it as a sign that home was close. Most of the myths associated with this bird have logic on their side!

I drew Nightjar (Whippoorwill). A bird of fall, of the dying time, haunting and dark. This nocturnal bird will see enemies in the dark, where you cannot see them. Its haunting call entices one to follow it.
It nests in dead leaves, the soil moist and growing fertile beneath. The Whippoorwill’s camouflage is truly stunning to behold; it blends right in with the leaves it nests on and is rarely seen. From death springs always new life, and often what looks like death is only hibernation.

I drew Gryphon, the mythical guardian of treasures and gold, who speaks about the blending of earth and air, being half lion, half eagle.

Perhaps you need to take a role as guardian of your grandfather's treasures, literal or figurative. Sometimes moving on is not about moving away, but embracing.

This is the bird of magic: work, craft, good work, wizardry, and woodwork/carpentry. Wren teaches about big things in small packages and unexpectedness; the wren brought fire and is king of the birds, associating with all of them, due mostly to its small, unthreatening appearance and lovely song, so Wren also speaks about resourcefulness and the real power and intelligence behind the figureheads.

There is also a deep sense of dryness about this bird.
The woodpecker searches the bark of the tree for bugs; a tedious task calling for an eye for detail and noting the importance of the smallest details. Call on this bird when you need to search every nook and cranny.

I am facing a lot of changes for the new year. Im adding a third job to my mix, I'm trying to focus on bettering myself. Im trying to salvage some relationships, and trying to learn how to let some others go (I've always struggled with the task of letting things go...)

So while I could ask a whole lot of specific questions, I think that it may be most informative to let the cards lie as they will.
