Comment and I will pull a card for you from my original bird oracle deck. Anyone and everyone is welcome! The more detail you give, the better I can interpret the card's meaning for you, which is my role as intermediary, however, even just a general request will get my best effort; it's up to you. For privacy, you may post anonymously; donors may choose to get their reading via private message.

If you are facing a choice, the cards may help point in the most positive direction for you. You may request an overall card to meditate upon. You might want a card to let you know what new thing may come into your life in the near future, or what is the most important thing facing you at this time. You may ask a specific question and we will see if the universal subconscious can answer it for you. However you use this opportunity, I hope it will be helpful!

I'd be interested in what the cards might say about my health in the near future. (Seven weeks until I see the specialist; I'm hoping that's the beginning of resolution for me.)

Oh, dear. You got Swift. In this case, this is bad news; swift speaks of being distant, of greater things to attend to, being on a great quest...I fear that there may not be a simple resolution for you. The swift does offer a bit of positivity, though, in that he speaks of moving forward, not looking back, not hesitating, not depending on others; take charge of your medical care, don't tolerate unreasonable delays or going over the same ground again, but keep moving forward and hopefully your quest will be efficient, and thus only as long as it needs to be.

Thank you, my dear. Considering I'm having to wait six months just for my initial consultation with the specialist, it feels longish already. :) I have a good idea of what I want, barring a change of heart after talking with the doctor, so I'm not going to settle for "let's try this, then that, then this other thing, maybe they'll work..." as an approach. This pretty much confirms that this is the best approach for me to take.

Duck suggests that it won't be either a stellar semester or a horrible one. The card reminds you to pay attention to the little things and be prepared for bad weather, to take care of your health and sustenance. Sorry to predict a dull semester, but better than a bad one! :)

Last semester was eventful in a bad way, so trust me, the promise of a dull semester is a good one! and health/sustenance are things I know I need to focus on right now, but a reminder is always good!

Having been the victim of the old Chinese curse about "interesting times", I hear you! There's definitely a bit of a "you should really do this" nudge feeling around taking care of your health and sustenance, so don't put it off! :)

I don't have a Dreamwidth account so it put me in as anonymous - this is Jenn in Michigan! :) I was going to ask a question about Mason in the next draw you had but I've changed my mind. My Mom has been having some health problems lately and I'd like to know what you and the cards have to say about it. Let me know if you need any more information than that. :) Thank you!

Ostrich suggests that your mother is probably better able to care for herself than you think! Be patient, keep your head down, but don't be afraid to give your mother a swift kick (figuratively!) if it becomes clear she really needs it. Make sure, though, that you have all your information ready, thoroughly prepared, before you do that, or it won't go as well as you hope.

I'd like a card please! I would like to know where I should be focusing my attention right now in my life. I seem to be at a bit of a lull lately, not making art, not doing much except fretting about...everything. I feel like I should be relaxing (a lot of things major life things have been going on in the last year or so) but I'm not exactly doing that, I'm just not doing stuff without the actual relaxing part.

Before I pull your card, a bit of personal advice, because I need to get it out of my system so I can be a proper intermediary! I've been in the exact same place, and found out that "doing nothing" does not equal "relaxing"; I had to find activities, things to do, that, while there may be a small level of stress involved at times, overall I found myself feeling relaxed after doing. I hope the cards will have a suggestion as to what might be relaxing for you!

Interesting! I drew for you the Hummingbird...the dancer, the fencer, energy, speed, piercing, daytime, sun-fueled, sun born. Blink and you'll miss it; this is the bird of impressions without detail, living at a rate of speed that puts it almost in another dimension.

I think you need to spend some time in the sun, and you might explore both dance and fencing as possible pastimes. However, most of all, I advise you to be receptive to insight, because the one that will be most accurate is probably going to come and go in a flash.

I haven't really been doing nothing mostly I've just not been doing making art. Which is a big thing for me, so it's been like I've been taking a break from that but yeah still not exactly relaxing.

Interestingly what I have been doing for the last couple of months is dancing. Just here in my living room with headphones on but I enjoy it. I started it for exercise and to help my moods and it has helped a lot.

I've been slacking a little on it lately though, and I would like to do it more. So that is interesting how that came up. I think focusing on that more would actually be a good idea. Getting out in the sun would probably be good too, I do that so little especially now that I don't have a working car anymore. Plus I tend to be a night owl. I'm going to need to try and get outside a bit whenever it stops raining :)

For you, the Cassowary - this bird is the warrior; the defender, though, not the hunter. It only dons its warpaint when called upon to do so. The male is also the nurturer, building the nest, hatching the eggs and raising the young. These birds are gardeners of the forest, spreading the seeds far and wide with their roaming. This is the picture of the native; three-dimensional and complex, strong and nurturing, of both family and earth, many things at the same time.

Goodness, the cards on FIRE today! I drew for you Vulture, which, to my mind, is a very solid "yes" answer to your question.
Vultures are good mothers and closely bonded with their children. They are grounded, practical, and realistic. Vulture advises to use what you have, what nature provides; don't waste your energy when you can make use of other sources of energy, let what you need come to you...but you must be keeping your eyes (literal and spiritual) open! Vulture speaks of stripping things down to the bare bones to reveal truths, the reality and importance of death as a part of the natural cycle, being willing to face unpleasant realities in general and to find what is good and useful in what others discard and avoid.

To expand on my initial interpretation, I would also suggest that you should NOT try fertility treatments, but aim for an unaided conception, and, if that fails, at least seriously consider adoption.

P.S. For the record, my personal advice would have been to stick with the one you have; the cards and I don't always agree! :)

Thanks so much! Actually, we have decided that e were to pursue this, we wouldn't use any fertility assistance beyond clomid, whereas last time we were prepared to go whole hog with ivf a few times over if need be. To be honest, I've ebeen mulling over the clomid! Now that we have M to consider, I am more wary of the side effects, and the thought of having multiples is too scary. We've already decided against adoption, for various reasons.

Well, thanks! I have to admit to leaning towards trying again, despite all logic! I appreciate you sharing your honest personal 2 cents ;). LOL. I am sure if it remains the 3 of us, we will be fine!

I just know how rough it was on you and I feel for you potentially struggling through another difficult infancy...but I also know infancies are only temporary! :)

Yeah, try the natural route and see what happens. BTW, I designed a fertility ritual when I was trying to get pregnant with Finn that worked beautifully, and had a friend adapt the idea to something that resonated for them with success as well, and I don't think that trying such a thing would in any way be in conflict with the card I drew for you, if you want to give that a shot. :)

Hrm. You got Penguin. I'm at a loss to see a connection to babies here, so I'll just give you the read and we can puzzle it out together!

Penguin speaks about social graces, about society and community. Penguin fly in one world and are hobbled in another; it's all a matter of perspective. They also speak of surprising sacrifice, the "never thought you had it in you" sort of sacrifice. Penguins are good, dedicated parents; much of that bit about sacrifice has to do with their parenting.

For you, I draw...the Gull. This is the card of masculinity from a broader perspective, strength, chivalry, poetry, protection, particularly of emotions and children, fairness, respect, but also untidy, noisy and rowdy in a group and will eat pretty much anything.

This is a warm, positive card that always makes me smile.

I drew for you the Frigate Bird, in many ways, the ultimate bird of the air. With the largest wingspan to body weight ratio of any bird, they can literally remain in the air for over a week at a time. They have a rather undeserved reputation as pirates and thieves, and are associated with Easter Island via the Soloman Islands. These birds teach about mystery, especially the mystery of lifestyles dramatically and intriguingly different than our own; sometimes misunderstood, but always fascinating.

It works out as two days of readings on my end, but I used to be a night owl and hated missing out on things, so...:)

I drew the Mute Swan, the card of the Maiden. While the usual applies...sweetness, fidelity, love, etc., there also comes a warning not to anger, spy on, or underestimate this form commonly chosen by the fey/gods. The other important message the Mute Swan brings is silence, and breaking that silence only for a very important reason, usually because something will be lost forever if you don't.

For you, the Bowerbird (how appropriate for an Australian!); this bird is the builder-artist, building and decorating a bower to attract his mate. Obviously, it speaks of courtship/romance, of structure building and decorating, of creativity and the value of beauty for its own sake. This bird also speaks of thoughtfulness, thinking things through, patience and precision.

You are still building your life; I know you have your mate, but you are still building your long-term life together. As to what you can do, take that last bit; think things through thoughtfully and be patient and precise. :)
