Special Charity November One Card Draw!
Nov. 15th, 2011 11:44 amThe November One Card Draw is now OPENCLOSED! This is a special charity draw; a portion of the tips will be donated to the National Children's Cancer Society and a lucky supporter will win a prize! See below for full details!
Comment and I will pull a card for you from my original, unique bird oracle deck. Anyone and everyone is welcome! The more detail you give in your request, the better I can interpret the card's meaning for you, which is my role as intermediary, however, even just a general request will get my best effort; it's up to you. For privacy, you may post anonymously; sponsors may choose to get their reading via private message.
If you are facing a choice, the cards may help point in the most positive direction for you. You may request an overall card to meditate upon. You might want a card to let you know what new thing may come into your life in the near future, or what is the most important thing facing you at this time. You may ask a specific question and we will see if the universal subconscious can answer it for you. However you use this opportunity, I hope it will be helpful!
Please keep it to one request per person so that the most people may be served. Thank you!
Today, I'm working for tips; please support my work if you can! This month, 10% of total tips received will be donated to the National Children's Cancer Society; if total tips exceed $250, then 25% of the proceeds will be donated, so spread the word!
I will do a drawing from all sponsors and one person will win the lovely Backyard Birds calendar that the National Children's Cancer Society sent me (which inspired this event) AND a write-up by me on the bird representing the month of your choice, say, your birthday month, or a friend or child's birthday month, any month that has significance for you. I will check the calendar and do a bird oracle type write-up for the specific bird representing that month, and will send you a printed copy of it along with the calendar! PLEASE include a shipping address and your handle in the special comments box when you tip!
In addition, the following incentives also apply:
If total tips exceed $25, I will select from all sponsors to receive a free Wings reading. At $50, a random sponsor will receive a Simple Nest reading. At $75, everyone gets into the running to win a Wings read, and at $100, everyone gets a chance at a Simple Nest. Thank you for your support!
Update: We have reached our second incentive; a Wings AND a Simple Nest reading will be given away. A total of $6.50 will be donated! Thank you!
P.S. Please spread the word far and wide; I'd like to make a nice, big donation! Remember, any donation, even $1, enters you into the drawing for the special prize, as well as the first two incentives!
As always, please see the disclaimer on my profile page.

Date: 2011-11-15 06:55 pm (UTC)For you, I drew Blackbird. This month will be a time of waiting for a small but important thing to happen. In the meantime, sleep, spend some time in front of a smoky fire, remain able to sway with the changes, and let them take you where they will.

Date: 2011-11-15 06:42 pm (UTC)I think I missed the last couple of months so I'm pleased I saw this in time. :-)
Context: I'm recovering from long-term depression. Emotionally, I'm feeling content and at peace with myself. \o/ But now I'm struggling with breaking out of the depression lifestyle that I've gotten used to. It's harder than I expected. I have ways I'm working with that but any advice from the birds will be appreciated. Maybe it'll come from an angle I hadn't considered.

Date: 2011-11-15 07:02 pm (UTC)Hrm. Interesting. For you, I drew the Loon. This is one of most moody of the cards! Loon encourages one to plunge into the depths, the deep, murky waters of the subconscious. Loon is about haunting songs and mad laughter, dreams and wishes made real, ghosts and the paranormal. It warns of the dangers of lead, reminds you to keep those you love close to you and to go the distance. It also foretells the restoration of sight.
It almost sounds to me that you need to look more deeply at your emotions, to follow the trail of your depression to see why these behaviors are still so appealing to you.
Alternatively, you need to make some drastic changes to exorcise the ghost of your depression. Shake things up dramatically.
Whichever path feels right to you, I wish you luck!

Date: 2011-11-15 07:06 pm (UTC)For you, I drew the Hen. Clearly, you should go with your instincts rather than your husband's. (In this case, what's good for the hen is good for the rooster!) Do, however, continue to involve him; he may have a magical touch right when your business needs it most. Keep in mind that the rewards will be small at first.
Good luck!

Date: 2011-11-15 06:47 pm (UTC)I guess, I'm really just looking for advice about my living situation. Our lease is up in March and I'm really not sure what to do. We could renew our lease, but that'd still require me to lean on my roommates. I'm not sick enough to go into an assisted living place. Another option would be to move into a 3 bedroom apartment, but we can barely make ends meet in this apartment, so... -sighs- I have 2 other options -- moving back to Michigan or out to Seattle, but both of those are veeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeery long shots.
If the cards could poke me in a general direction, I'd really appreciate it. Thanks a ton.

Date: 2011-11-15 07:20 pm (UTC)However, from death (or endings), new life always springs; there is hope for the future!
In the meantime, try to blend in with your surroundings and, if your roommates are awake during the day, you might try being awake mostly at night and sleeping during the day, if you have someplace out of the way to sleep. If that doesn't apply, then being a nightowl in a house of daybirds might be the best bet in the future.
Good luck!

Date: 2011-11-15 07:28 pm (UTC)For you, I drew Mockingbird, though Pheasant was also sticking itself in. Mockingbird tells you that you may be tested by a blinding distraction. If you stay calm and remember to use all your senses, you will do well. Pheasant is, I think, hinting that this event will come with the summer.
I think that's a bit further in the future than you asking, but it's what the cards wanted you to know; I hope this is helpful!

Date: 2011-11-15 07:21 pm (UTC)For me, I notice recently, a vulnerable self hiding inside the strong self. I wish to keep the strong self, I am proud of it. But, I often hide in the strong self as a way to avoid dealing with the vulnerable self. How to let my self be vulnerable?

Date: 2011-11-15 07:53 pm (UTC)I get the distinct sense that this card is talking about you; that you are one who is dignified and wise, at least in this case. Move forward with confidence in your decision and your self.

Thanks!

Date: 2011-11-15 08:37 pm (UTC)I drew Penguin, a bird of society, community, social graces and surprising sacrifice. These birds fly in one world and are hobbled in another; they teach about different perspectives.
I think this means that you and Dan will be friends in the long term. I hope this helps!

Date: 2011-11-16 02:19 pm (UTC)I drew the Sparrow. Don't be so hard on yourself! Love is what matters most, and, with that as your guide, everything else will work out in the end. Remember to value everyone's contribution to the family; don't be afraid to lean on your support circle; that's what it's there for!
Good luck!

Date: 2011-11-16 02:50 pm (UTC)For you, I drew the Quail. This bird understands your burden of many questions and few answers. Perhaps you need to do some naming? Make a list to help you organize, then trust your instincts on which direction to move first. Avoid a leadership role if you can; let someone else face the danger and take the risks while you are invisible in the background.
I hope that helps! Thanks again!

Date: 2011-11-16 02:22 pm (UTC)Ha! You'll love this! You got Bat! The unexpected, the one who turns everything on its head, the bat encourages making peace with one's dark side, finding the good in it. The bat also speaks of the warm and the dark generally.
