April One Card Draw!
Apr. 17th, 2012 10:55 am![[personal profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/silk/identity/user.png)
The April One Card Draw is now OPEN CLOSED! Thank you for participating!
Comment and I will pull a card for you from my original, unique bird oracle deck. Anyone and everyone is welcome! The more detail you give in your request, the better I can interpret the card's meaning for you, which is my role as intermediary, however, even just a general request will get my best effort; it's up to you. For privacy, you may post anonymously; sponsors may choose to get their reading via private message.
If you are facing a choice, the cards may help point in the most positive direction for you. You may request an overall card to meditate upon. You might want a card to let you know what new thing may come into your life in the near future, or what is the most important thing facing you at this time. You may ask a specific question and we will see if the universal subconscious can answer it for you. However you use this opportunity, I hope it will be helpful!
Today, I'm working for tips; please support my work if you can! All sponsors may request a second card! (This may be a new question or more detail on the original question, whatever you prefer!)
If total tips exceed $25, I will select from all sponsors to receive a free Wings reading. At $50, a random sponsor will receive a Simple Nest reading. At $75, everyone gets into the running to win a Wings read, and at $100, everyone gets a chance at a Simple Nest. Thank you for your support!
Can't afford to tip? Spread the word! Post a link to my draw in at least two different places and you can request a second card! Thank you!
Update: We didn't achieve an incentive this month. I'll be retooling for next month!
As always, please see the disclaimer on my profile page. Also, remember that you can purchase a read at any time from that same profile page or from my website!

Date: 2012-04-17 04:29 pm (UTC)I would like a card to help me in deciding the next steps on my healing. I chipped in so two cards would be appreciated to clarify suggestions.

Date: 2012-04-17 04:52 pm (UTC)Your cards (and thank you for your support, by the way!) are Kingfisher and Heron/Egret. (Stork, which is the card of parental care/sacrifice, also tried to peek in, but retired.)
Kingfisher is about clear vision on both land and water. This bird makes a home by bashing out a burrow, sometimes injuring itself in the process. This bird is associated with streams and rivers, freshwater. Dive into it, trust your instincts, don't be afraid to hurt yourself a bit (only a necessary bit!) in the process.
Egret/Heron (they are very closely related) is the fisherman, timeless and taciturn, quiet and patient, self-reliant above all. Utterly independent with deep confidence and security of self; this may be where you are headed in your healing. Your great challenge will be in balancing your strong emotions; from this, you will derive great strength and wisdom. When you are not successful in this, you will alternate between overly strong expression and overly strong repression of emotion.
I hope this helps!

Date: 2012-04-17 04:57 pm (UTC)Sometimes, doing things quickly is a lot easier than taking it one step at a time; sounds like you need to hit the ground running, even if you need someone to give you a very firm push first!
Good luck!

Date: 2012-04-17 05:05 pm (UTC)I asked first if you should do it, and second if it would be worth it.
Your first card is Loon, the BIRD of the "really out-there"! Loon suggests going the distance, but keeping those you love close to you!
Your second card is Bluebird. This is, of course, the classical bird of happiness, but is generally more about the search and striving for than the getting...the bluebird knows that happiness can be a fleeting dream. This is a bird, too, that is more about the surface than the depth, too gentle and nonaggressive for passion or drama, too much a creature of the present to be complex.
It sounds like "worth it" isn't exactly the best descriptor of your end result, but you should, nevertheless, pursue it. The striving has value even if it never really ends; live in the now, do what calls to you, and don't worry too much!
I hope that helps!

Date: 2012-04-17 05:35 pm (UTC)The Rook knows when bad fortune is coming; if it leaves, so should you. Bow to the wisdom of the birds, respect their intelligence. This is the bird of humility and temperance.
I hesitate to give advice on a relatively vague reference, but it sounds like you need to choose your friends carefully.
I hope this helps!

Date: 2012-04-17 06:00 pm (UTC)Use what you have, what nature provides, don't waste your energy when you can make use of other sources of energy, let what you need come to you...but you MUST be keeping your eyes (literal as well as spiritual) open! Be willing to face unpleasant realities in general and find what is good and useful in what others discard and avoid. Be grounded, practical, and realistic.
In this economy, repeated appearances of Vulture on this topic certainly, unfortunately, make sense!

Date: 2012-04-17 09:34 pm (UTC)Initially, I started to draw Eagle, but Hawk came up instead; still, I think it's worth noting these two raptors both appeared. Hawk is the bird of the in-between, as you are in-between in many ways right now. Hawk reminds us to see things as grey rather than black and white, and to keep an eye on the big picture. Hawk speaks strongly of messages, especially between worlds or from the past, but messaged and communication generally, including through dance. Find the strength to go on through activity; keep busy. You have useful tools to use.
I hope this helps!

Date: 2012-04-18 04:41 pm (UTC)There are a few interpretations here; first, if your mother (or mother-figure) is advising you, you should probably listen to her. Second, you might want to pursue something to do with food. Third, you may want to pursue something in the care-giving field. I've listed these in the order of the strength of feeling I have about their correctness. In general, be patient, vigilant, and accept and appreciate the small rewards.
I hope this helps!

Date: 2012-04-18 04:48 pm (UTC)Well, your first card is quite to the point; Ibis is about writing, especially as a form of record-keeping! Clearly, you need to keep a written to-do list. (Actually, as someone who sometimes has motivation problems herself, I can tell you that keeping a to-do on a white board has been very helpful!)
Your second card, Kingfisher, is a less straightforward answer, but speaks of clear vision; make sure you keep in mind and in sight your end goal. (Maybe draw or take a picture of what the end goal of your studies is and display it prominently.) Sometimes, you're just going to have to be sensible and make yourself, even if you feel like you're bashing your head in to do it.
I hope this helps!

Date: 2012-04-18 04:54 pm (UTC)For you, the universe sends Woodpecker, the drummer, linked to thunder and the heartbeat, this bird is most closely entwined with trees and wood and is therefore also the woodcarver.
Do what seems obvious to you even if it doesn't seem obvious to someone else. Whatever works! Trust your core instinct. (See?! :)) Laugh. :)
There is also a deep sense of dryness about this bird.
The woodpecker searches the bark of the tree for bugs; a tedious task calling for an eye for detail, a skill for noting the importance of even the smallest details. Call on this bird when you need to search every nook and cranny.
I hope that helps!
i can has card?
Date: 2012-04-19 05:58 pm (UTC)can i still get a card since i posted in the wrong forum the other day?
Re: i can has card?
Date: 2012-04-20 01:52 am (UTC)For you, I drew Roadrunner. Speed! This bird is first and foremost about speed, including multitasking, being verbally quick, and mental agility, too. Roadrunners are also tough enough to take on a rattlesnake! While independence is good and natural for this bird, it can backfire, so don't be afraid to accept a little help if you need it.
I hope that's helpful to you!
