It's my birthday, I'll read if I want to!
Dec. 15th, 2011 07:05 amThe December One Card Draw is now OPENCLOSED! This is a special birthday draw; I'm hoping to make enough to fund a consolidated website; I have an offer from a friend and I need about $175155 (my memory was a bit off and my friend gave me a discount by way of donation). If I make it, I'll give away a complex nest read! I will read till this evening, but anyone who chooses to sponsor after I'm done will get their card in the morning!
Comment and I will pull a card for you from my original, unique bird oracle deck. Anyone and everyone is welcome! The more detail you give in your request, the better I can interpret the card's meaning for you, which is my role as intermediary, however, even just a general request will get my best effort; it's up to you. For privacy, you may post anonymously; sponsors may choose to get their reading via private message.
If you are facing a choice, the cards may help point in the most positive direction for you. You may request an overall card to meditate upon. You might want a card to let you know what new thing may come into your life in the near future, or what is the most important thing facing you at this time. You may ask a specific question and we will see if the universal subconscious can answer it for you. However you use this opportunity, I hope it will be helpful!
Today, I'm working for tips; please support my work if you can!
If total tips exceed $25, I will select from all sponsors to receive a free Wings reading. At $50, a random sponsor will receive a Simple Nest reading. At $75, everyone gets into the running to win a Wings read, and at $100, everyone gets a chance at a Simple Nest. Thank you for your support!
Final Update: We met the first two incentives; I'll do the drawing for the Wings and Simple Next readings for sponsors later today. Thanks so much, everyone! I appreciate your support! :) While I didn't make my goal, another friend inspired me to empty my piggy bank; hopefully, I'll have enough to make up the difference! You guys got me just shy of halfway, and that's nothing to sneeze at! Thank you!
As always, please see the disclaimer on my profile page.

Date: 2011-12-15 03:39 pm (UTC)As to whether slowing down is a good thing, you got Lark, the bird of winter, who agrees that taking a step back to recharge and fertilize yourself is an EXCELLENT idea!
Oh, no! *laugh* In answer to what bird energy may help or hinder, you got Bat! This is the unexpected, the one who turns everything on its head...so you may be in for some surprises that make that slowing down not an option after all. I have a feeling, though, that you will get the downtime you need...just maybe not as much as you want! :)

Date: 2011-12-15 04:37 pm (UTC)Ahhhh lark, I love you, I definitely need recharging. As for bat, I had to laugh a little, because I keep wanting 2012 to be the quietest year ever, but I have this sneaking suspicion it's not gonna be. I'm hoping it's connected to the art or something like that, but I honestly have no idea. I'll have to have a chat with bat because - in a wonderful bit of synchronicity - zie's on my to do list to draw again in the next batch of totems, and I only looked at my own totem file for bat about two days ago.
Thank you so much!

Date: 2011-12-15 04:51 pm (UTC)*chuckle* Good luck! I really think you are in for a topsy turvy event at some point, but a positive, fun one, so don't fight it off TOO hard! :)

Date: 2011-12-15 03:42 pm (UTC)For you, I drew Cuckoo. This cuckoo is the get-off-my-lawn grandfather, strong but dependent, delighting in youth...maybe a bit too much. I hope that helps! :)

Date: 2011-12-15 04:49 pm (UTC)For you, the Ostrich comes today. These birds with their huge, beautiful eyes and long, lithe legs equate to the flirtatious woman who is cleverer than she seems at first, the innocent who is perfectly capable of caring for herself after all. The egg of the ostrich is a popular symbol of creation and fertility.
On the other hand, this grounded bird is linked to truth and balance; its feathers are perfectly balanced on each side. Thoroughly digest what you are contemplating before acting; be patient, keep your head down and blend in with the landscape while you think.
If running, leaving, or staying low isn't an option, a good swift kick is advised.
A good one, I think! :)

Date: 2011-12-15 05:47 pm (UTC)I drew Albatross. This honest, innocent bird is the embodiment of the "geek" or "goonie", ungainly and awkward on land, having lost use of their wings, they are pitiful, but, in the sky, they are the epitome of discoverers, making new paths, breaking on through to the other side, truly, deeply magical beings, they are more truly right in the air than those that might torment them are on land, making THOSE beings pitiful.
This bird is also strongly monogamous, loyal, and believes in courtship, though their courtship rituals may seem a bit odd to others. Jonathan Livingston Seagull should really have been an albatross.
I hope that helps!

Date: 2011-12-15 05:54 pm (UTC)For you, I drew the Ibis! This bird is about writing (especially as a form of record-keeping) and the telling and recording of stories, intelligence, magic, equilibrium, mediation, and reckoning, from which come wisdom and powerful counseling skills. The bill of this bird is associated with the crescent moon.
Enjoy!

Date: 2011-12-15 06:38 pm (UTC)Can I have a card please? A question isn't really coming to me at the moment, so I'd like to hear whatever the birds have to tell me.
Thank you.

Date: 2011-12-15 07:06 pm (UTC)For you, I drew Stork. This is a bird of hearth and home, of birth and parental care and sacrifice as well as familial duty generally. Storks are silent and communicate with body language and bill clapping. They are also noted enemies of snakes.
Not surprising to see this card at this time of year! I hope it's helpful to you!

Date: 2011-12-15 07:29 pm (UTC)For you, I drew the Pigeon/Dove. These birds are actually the same sort of bird; dove is usually applied to the smaller, lighter colored varieties while larger and typically darker varieties are dubbed pigeons. This bird is the bird's bird, the foundation upon which the concept of bird may be built; they are ancient and tremendously adaptable, among the strongest of flyers while remaining highly maneuverable as well. These birds reflect much of the good and bad of humanity, and our own struggle with our dual natures. Finally, the most important and powerful word associated with this bird is HOME, in as ways as the word can be thought of and interpreted.
I think your family will be like the pigeon/dove, adapting and surviving and taking strength from the home you have together.
I hope this helps!

Date: 2011-12-15 09:17 pm (UTC)Hrm. You got Toucan; without more information, I'm not sure how to interpret it, so I'll just give you the general info and you can take from it what you will. :) Toucan speaks of the illusion of depth or strength, of showmanship, superfluousness, lots of show without necessarily anything behind. This bird also speaks of the moderation of heat, cooling the flames, doing things the easy way. Finally, Toucan teaches about turning what appears to be a negative into a positive.
I hope that helps!

Date: 2011-12-15 09:19 pm (UTC)For you, an interesting year ahead with the Thrush! This is the bird of autumn, bringer of depth, increasing of secrets, strong blood, alchemy, the magic of music, musical notes, anvil, blacksmith, and the rustling of leaves.
I hope you have a lovely day!

Date: 2011-12-15 10:08 pm (UTC)This is actually a very practical question today. In my left shoulder blade, there's been a lot of pain for some days. I worry about spending money to see a doctor, because I know that doctors often can't treat back pain well, and I don't want to waste money. I also wonder if the way I hold my body, as someone who feels phantom wings, might have something to do with it. So, I'm looking for what would be the best course to treat this. Is it something I should do at home? Or, would a doctor be able to fix it? Or should I just rest and it will get better?
Birds know about problems with wings, so I'm looking to see what they would have to say. ^v^

Date: 2011-12-15 10:20 pm (UTC)I really would never be comfortable telling someone to stay away from the doctor, and the card I drew supports that. You got Bat, which is all about the unexpected and everything being turned on its head; because we cannot KNOW you don't need to go, we have suggest that you SHOULD. In the meantime, the bat suggests warmth on the affected area and rest in a dark room.
Feel better soon!

Date: 2011-12-16 04:27 am (UTC)For you, the Phoenix; you can't get a more birthday appropriate bird than this! *laugh* The Phoenix, of course, is all about rebirth, new beginning after dramatic ending, rising from the ashes, transformation and renewal, and taking charge of your own life/fate.
Sounds like an interesting year!

Date: 2011-12-16 01:42 pm (UTC)For you, I drew Goldfinch. This bird brings flashes of insight, usually sudden and bright and complete, though occasionally barely grasped or elusive. It speaks of suddenly seeing something that was hidden, especially a hidden choice.
I hope that's helpful to you!
