February One Card Draw!

Sorry I'm getting started a bit late today, but here we go! The February One Card Draw is now OPENCLOSED! It's a beautiful leap day and I look forward to reading for you!

Comment and I will pull a card for you from my original, unique bird oracle deck. Anyone and everyone is welcome! The more detail you give in your request, the better I can interpret the card's meaning for you, which is my role as intermediary, however, even just a general request will get my best effort; it's up to you. For privacy, you may post anonymously; sponsors may choose to get their reading via private message.

If you are facing a choice, the cards may help point in the most positive direction for you. You may request an overall card to meditate upon. You might want a card to let you know what new thing may come into your life in the near future, or what is the most important thing facing you at this time. You may ask a specific question and we will see if the universal subconscious can answer it for you. However you use this opportunity, I hope it will be helpful!

My husband just lost the job he's only had for three weeks, and I need further diagnostic work on a previously undetected kidney problem (probably minor, and probably related to the radiation therapy, but that's why I need more diagnotic tests). I could use some information and/or advice from the birds...

Okay, so Hen threw itself out of the deck at me for you. Hen is the bird of the mother; instinct/intuition, protection of children and lunatics, innocence, fertility, nurturing, vigilance, small rewards, enlightenment in death.

Know that you are beloved by the great mother. Perhaps you or your husband can find work caring for either children or the mentally challenged or broken. You will probably never be financially secure. :(

Neither of us has any inclination nor talent toward caring for children or broken people - but our son the psychologist's practice deals with those who are both mentally retarded (childlike) and mentally ill (broken-brained) at the same time. And my husband insists that we will be financially secure again, as we once were. What I'm taking away from this is that maybe I/we need to directly call upon the Mother for help and nurturance right now. (Well, not right now, because I'm too discombobulated to deal at the moment... but soonish.)

Oh, and we're going to have chicken for dinner tonight ;-)

Alas, he's busy taking care of his wife, who is recovering from a different form of endometrial cancer than what I had - she had to have chemotherapy, and now she's having "chemo flashbacks", because the chemo drugs are stored in body fat, and she's working on losing weight.

The one does not preclude the other, though it sucks! I hope she gets through it with a minimum of awfulness!

I just got off the phone with him. He reiterated an offer he'd made the last time we were heading towards serious financial trouble - that the two of them would buy a "mother/daughter" house and charge us a very modest rent for our portion. (It probably wouldn't work on a number of levels, but it is nice that he thought of it.)

Meanwhile, I'm thinking about getting a santeria "blessed candle" for the Queen of Heaven...

Just earlier today I decided it was a good day to request my Cyber Monday Simple Nest reading (was that it?) and look - you're having a free card draw! I'll take one here while I think about what to ask.

I asked for a card for inspiration and I got Duck. Food, sustenance, health, energy, be gentle with yourself, don't be surprised if rain or a storm is coming. This bird is a friend of the meek and speaks also of the importance of the little things and of the family/clan.

For you, the Mute Swan. This is the bird of the Maiden; sweetness, fidelity, love, surprising strength. The legend of this bird is that it only sings the sweetest song in the world upon dying. This is a form commonly chosen by the fey/gods. Don't anger, spy on, or underestimate!

For you, I drew Scrat. This is a magical creature that appears as a common rooster, and is the bird of illusion. That which appears to be nothing, appears to be everyday, may not be as it seems; the most extraordinary can be found in what seems the most ordinary. That which both hurts and helps; this vain and bossy, but vigilant and often valorous creature, whose magic is very much on his terms, can bring good or bad luck. Keep your sense of humor and remember that the more pride you have, the harder the fall; practice humility. Finally, this is a bird of the harvest, of endings for the sake of new beginnings.

Well, you can't get a much more positive card for your relocation than Pigeon/Dove! By far the most powerful word associated with this bird is HOME, in as many ways as the word can be thought of and interpreted. It sounds like this relocation will be the base from which all other things come.

Hello! I'm in an uncertain time, looking for a job, somewhat between writing projects, waiting to hear back from jobs and agents, unsure where I'm going to end up in a week or a month or on any longer timeframe, and kinda stressed and disoriented about it all. A card for advice/wisdom?
